[monologue]
all I can see are objects up close, tangled cables and tear stains on notation paper, sweaters I will never wear. the mess before me is nothing compared to the mess inside me. Silently, loudly. Loudly, silently. I don't hear your voice anymore when I read your texts and I don't think of you nearly as often as I used to. I thought that would worry me but it doesn't. I have a thousand ears yet I am deaf to all but you.
Every time I talk to you it's like I open up a part of my heart and let you look inside.
I think the main reason I called you that night was because I needed someone to talk to and not many people were awake at 2am, but the second you spoke I suddenly realised how much I missed talking to you in person and all the memories of us being face to face just came pouring back. I remember feeling so deeply connected to you, something I hadn't really expected, especially not to that extent, before hearing your voice again.
[screaming]
through written or spoken, I will love you
I can't wait for you to
come back
